Marathons upon Marathons

Last month, I attended UKSG for the very first time (despite the fact I’ve lived in the UK my entire life). And overall, it’s a really fun event! I got to meet some absolute gamers like Xylex, Leah, Scorch, and after they’ve been in this community for a long time it was super nice to spend time with them. We went bowling and I Absolutely Crushed Everyone (except Xylex, she’s pretty good). I’m really excited to go back to UKSG next year, it seems to be the perfect IRL event - so go check it out if you’ve always wanted to go to a speedrun event!

You may also know I participated in NilssonAlex’s marathon, which was to remember his mother who unfortunately passed away 6 years ago. This is a weekend long marathon that is on it’s fourth iteration, and I was really surprised at the variety of runners and games. I’ve known Alex since I met him at ESA Summer 24, and I mainly know him as an ALTTP guy. Well, the schedule had a few personal highlights like Super Mario World Kaizo, World of Warcraft Triple Bingo, and my friend DarkXoa running Super Metroid. I ran Undertale TPE Glitchless and Oneshot Any% NMG, and you can check out both of these runs here:

Community Spotlight

My friend InstaSim, who I met at Albion Speedrun Collective in Manchester, is hosting a marathon! A few familiar faces like CheeseJay, juesto, itzpaige, and eden8 (who’s that?) all got runs accepted!
